Care and Community

Community Care Team
This team offers Christ’s love, care, and assistance to the members and regular attendees and responds to the special needs or concerns not met by other ministries. This team also plans and organizes drives to assist with caring for others.

Visitation Team
Help care for Southpointers that are in times of need by visiting or contacting them while they are in the hospital, rehab, senior centers, etc. This team provides prayer, encouragement and listening, so they feel cared for.

Prayer Force
Prayer is the key to Christian life. The team commits to praying for requests as well as strategic prayers for our church and culture. These are communicated by a weekly email and occasional urgent requests sent during the week.

Open Arms Food Pantry
The Open Arms Food Pantry team provides food assistance to members of the congregation and our local community. The pantry distributes staple foods, fresh produce, milk, eggs, margarine, and kid’s snacks to families in need of food. People over the age of 13 can volunteer to serve on Wednesdays to help unload food and set up for distribution between 2:30-4:30pm or serve from 4:30-7:30pm helping to package and distribute food. ( The pantry is onsite at our campus).

Community Meals
We provide a hot meal to families in need through a drive through experience once a month. Opportunities include: Cooking, baking, packing meals, delivering food to vehicles, registration and prayer.

What areas have you struggled with in the past? *
Affirm that you are willing to commit to confidentiality with program participants. *
Confidentiality is crucial to the healing and recovery process. For participants to feel comfortable opening up and being honest, they have to feel confident that their information will not be discussed outside of Thrive groups. This is an absolute requirement!
What kind of involvement would you be interested in? *
Some examples would be leading small breakout groups for specific struggle areas, worship, setup/teardown/cleanup, follow up calls, etc.

Birth through 2 years

Idea 1

Begin praying for your little one now! Whether you’re feeding or rocking your child to sleep, start praying for them from their head to their toes!
Head to Toe Prayer:

Idea 2

Pray scripture over your child! Here’s an example: (Psalm 23:6) May goodness and mercy follow (insert child’s name) all the days of their life and may (insert child’s name) dwell in the house of the Lord forever!

Idea 3

Begin a daily prayer journal. Each day, write a small prayer for your child. When they are older, they will be able to look back and see all the prayers you have prayed over them through the years!
